Testimonial
Jayne
I have been attending the Foundation class at the Art School Cheddar for five years. During this time I have experienced painting with acrylic and watercolour, collage, printing and working in 3D. Katrina is inspirational and challenges each member of the group to achieve their potential. ‘Art Tuesday’ is my favourite day of the week;I love it!

CLASSES
ARTXTRA is an exciting art club inspiring children to explore art materials, techniques and topics. Becoming creatively and technically confident as well as gaining a broad spectrum of transferable life skills including: improving memory, concentration, critical thinking and an overall improvement to health and wellbeing.
ARTXTRA covers topics such as: drawing, painting, printing and sculpture, referencing both historical and Contemporary Artists. Our students work to a high standard bridging the gap between school and college.
ARTXTRA is facilitated by Katrina Atkinson (Dual Professional Artist/Teacher). She has been running ARTXTRA for over five years wishing to offer the opportunity for children to experience a wide and varied Art Education that is diminishing in schools.
MONDAY
Coming soon Wednesday ARTXRA
A new topic most weeks, thus keeping the young artists enthusiasm and creativity flowing. Studies show mixed age groups overall have a more positive learning experience. I have found it to be successful when applying it to my own teaching practice. Students become stronger independent learners gaining confidence as well as finding collaboration easier. Therefore my art classes are mixed age & abilities.
This years exciting new Theme is 'An Art Map Around The World'. Encouraging discussions around Geography and culture as well as historical and contemporary artists.
