I wanted to expand my skills and understanding of acrylic painting and so joined Katrina’s evening classes. Katrina taught familiar subjects and gave me the confidence to try the more unfamiliar and on some summer evenings we even painted en plein air. The lessons were enjoyable, friendly and Katrina gave bags of encouragement and made everyone feel very welcome. My painting has definitely improved as a result of my time spent with Katrina and I would highly recommend people going to her lessons.

COURSE CONTENT

September 2024 is the first of the art school year’s 'six weeks' and will be dedicated to colour. We will explore several restrictive paint pallets while referencing contemporary and historical artists whose work is all about colour, including, Leonid Afremov and Henri Matisse. We will also explore application of paint using different tools to achieve different effects. A fast pace fun and informative weekly session. Most weeks you will take home a new piece of work.

You will be given handouts to accompany the course for your future reference.

All materials provided for the course.

Materials list for you to purchase your own tool kit should you wish to do so.

Refreshments include; beverage of choice & biscuit.

Katrina is always happy to critique and support remotely if you wish to practice any techniques at home in your own time.

Wk 1: Sept: 19th, Wk 2: 26th, Wk 3: October 3rd, Wk 4: 10th, Wk 5: 17th, Wk 6: 24th.

(Half Term: Oct 31st No Class).

Wk 1: Nov 7th, Wk 2: 14th, Wk 3: 21st, Wk 4: 28th, Wk 5: Dec 5th, Wk 6: 12th.

X 6 sessions = £102 includes materials and refreshments.
