Wild Impressions: Lino Print on Linen Bags
A One-Day Creative Printmaking Workshop
Join Katrina for a relaxed and expressive one-day lino printing workshop exploring bold mark-making, texture, and personal imagery. In this session, you will design, carve, and print your own linocut motif onto a natural linen bag, creating a functional and beautifully handcrafted piece to take home.
Working within a calm and supportive studio environment, you will be guided through the full printmaking process—from developing ideas and sketching designs, through carving techniques, inking, and hand-printing onto fabric. This workshop encourages experimentation and embraces the expressive qualities of line, texture, and imperfection.

RAG RUG WORKSHOP

Heirloom Memory Rugs & Keepsake Cushions
Transforming treasured clothing into lasting family heirlooms
Two-Day Creative Rag Rug Workshop
Heirloom Memory Rugs & Keepsake Cushions
Transform treasured garments into a piece of lasting beauty. Across two carefully guided days, you will design, prepare, and create a deeply personal textile using traditional rag rug techniques—resulting in an heirloom to be lived with and cherished.
No experience is required—only materials that hold meaning, and a willingness to explore.
Day One: Design & Foundation
The workshop begins with a gentle and considered exploration of your ideas, guiding you to develop a design that reflects your personal narrative. Through a series of intuitive exercises, you will shape a composition that feels both meaningful and visually balanced.
Your design will then be carefully transferred onto hessian, creating a strong and purposeful foundation for your piece.
Attention then turns to colour and material. You will thoughtfully curate a harmonious palette, blending your own treasured fabrics with a selection of additional textiles provided. With a focus on tone, texture, and subtle variation, you will begin preparing your materials—cutting and organising them into cohesive colour-ways.
By the end of the day, you will have established a clear creative direction and a beautifully prepared base from which your work can evolve.
Day Two: Making & Refinement
Building on the foundations established on Day One, the second day offers a deeper immersion into the making process. With your design thoughtfully prepared and materials selected, you will continue constructing your piece, allowing it to evolve with greater clarity and intention.
This stage is both meditative and expressive—each section carefully developed as your textile begins to reveal its full character and narrative.
Throughout the day, you will receive individual guidance and considered feedback, supporting you in refining colour relationships, texture, and composition. There is space here to respond intuitively to your work, making subtle adjustments and creative decisions as your piece unfolds.
You will also be introduced to ways of resolving and finishing your work, ensuring it carries both structural integrity and a sense of quiet completeness.
By the end of the day, your piece will be well underway—or, in some cases, beautifully finished—ready to take its place as a meaningful object within your home.
Refreshments & Lunch
Morning and afternoon refreshments are thoughtfully provided, including tea, coffee, and a selection of biscuits and homemade cake.
A simple, seasonal lunch—such as soup or a traditional ploughman’s—is available as an optional addition.
